The main tasks:

diagnosing and treating early arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis,  spondyloarthropathies,  Sjögren’s syndrome, lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis and other autoimmune rheumatic diseases – as well as gout and other types of arthritis caused by crystal deposition. The Clinic of Early Arthritis deals also with the diagnosis and treatment of fibromyalgia, as well as the differential diagnosis of inflammatory joint diseases and of chronic pain syndromes.

Medical doctors of our clinic co-operate with the Medical University of Warsaw conducting educational courses in rheumatology for students of the medical faculty and lectures for students of rehabilitation studies. We also conduct educational classes for medical doctors specializing in rheumatology (organized by the Centre for Postgraduate Medical Education), as well as for primary care physicians and patients. The employees of the clinic participate as lecturers in many national and international conferences, while the head of the Clinic is the main organizer of cyclical conferences, such as: Warsaw Rheumatological Days and Cases in Rheumatology.

The clinic conducts scientific research as a part of Institute’s statutory activity and implements scientific grants, including POWR programme funded by the EU (Prophylaxis of rheumatoid arthritis under Priority Axis V, Support for the health area, Actions 5.1). The clinic also conducts clinical trials of new types of drugs used in the treatment of e.g. rheumatoid arthritis(RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS).
